It’s been a while since SM Entertainment’s dance unit Younique ruled the floor with their debut sound, but their distinct tribal fashion remains cutting edge.

Dancing kings Eunhyuk and Henry of Super Junior fame are two of the hot idols in the Maxstep music video.  Apart from showing off their stellar moves, the boys also wowed with their unique take on the tribal gear trend.

Eunhyuk accessorizes his long neck with a statement piece. The KTZ Masai Leather Necklace featured a full collar in black leather with yellow, blue, maroon and pink tribal print and circular buckle detail, with black metal studs to complete. Wear it over a plain black ensemble and slicked back hair and already you are the star of the show.

Henry showed no fashion restraint though. The Super Junior M celebrity went all out tribal, starting with a KTZ Church Printed Oversized T-shirt. Black, full sized yet graceful on the body, the shirt featured a stark white church-themed print.

He paired the already bold shirt with an even bolder piece—a skirt! The brand KTZ spared no look for this collection, coming up with a red tartan print long skirt that wraps around the front. Going past his knees and worn over red knitted leggings, with the shirt and a black fur collar jacket, Henry rocked this winter-themed ensemble. It might have been difficult to dance in though. But it’s a challenge isn’t it?

Big Bang Gets ‘Best Band Style of 2012’ Recognition From MTV Style

Big Bang Korean Fashion

Big Bang Korean Fashion

Kpop is making huge wave internationally recently, owing special thanks to Gangnam Style. But PSY is not the only Korean music sensation hitting the rights notes worldwide. Iconic idol group Big Bang had already made their own mark not just in the Kpop world, but also in the fashion world and getting acknowledged by MTV Style.

MTV Style has made their own list of winning celebrities in fashion for 2012. One category is the ‘Best Band Style’. Getting listed alongside with the likes of Destiny’s Child and One Direction is none other than YG Entertainment’s Big Bang.

Big Bang is one of the successful Kpop boy bands helming at the forefront of Hallyu wave. They dominated the market with their signature funky/hip hop urban beats and their bold, loud and colorful fashion. The boys are not the types to be shy to wear pink, nor neon or silver, prints and patterns.

In picture above, G Dragon counters his naturally effeminate face with a blue streak of hair to match his black, neon blue and green jigsaw-patterned jacket. He wears a leather pants with horizontal slash details to go with his black and gold boots. He tops it off with a chunky metal chain around his neck and a thick metal belt.

Maknae Seungri goes all black except for his white and silver ski boots, but the look is hardly monotonous. His leather jacket sports snug cotton sleeves and is worn over a black shirt with bold red print and punk black pants with spikes skimming his legs. Taeyang is spotted wearing the same black and gold ski boots as G Dragon, but pairs it instead with zebra print jeans, a comfortable black graffiti printed hoodie jacket. His signature sky-high fringe accentuates the look.

Daesung does a sleek side-swept blonde hairdo with a neon pink and orange camouflage jacket over a neon pink shirt, with a wide black belt and jeans with one side a darker shade of denim than the other. He wears the same silver and white boots as Seungri. TOP dons the low cut version. He does hot pink too but in a graphic pattern with purple and black on his jacket. His chunky pendant pulls the pink together with his silver-wash pants and boots.

If you think all the details are in place, you missed a spot. The boys of Big Bang care for fashionable nails as well, as MTV Style has gushed about. G Dragon and TOP sport silver MINX nails to finally complete their ensemble.

Key Korean Fashion

Shinee Key Korean Fashion

Seoul Fashion Week tend to attract the most fashionable and chic-looking celebrities in Korea. SHINee’s Key is known for his colorful and daring street fashion within the SM Entertainment family.  Thus, it is no surprise that Key made a bold splash in Seoul Fashion Week that took place recently.

Key made a solo appearance in this event, without the companion of other SHINee boys. Though the idol came to indulge in all the fashion goodness, he is undeniably a hip-hop fashion savant in his own right, looking at the ensemble that he wore.

For the show, Key seemed to think that one hat was not sufficient. So the audacious boy put on two. His choices were the Peace Love and Understanding caps with metal spike detail at the brim and back, and a detachable tartan print do-rag. Key wore the navy over the red.

Key was also seen wearing the signature SHINee black platform military boots with zipper detail and  dangerous bullet-style spikes that trail behind the ankles. These went well with his dark jeans and his Andrea Crews camouflage jacket in gold silkscreen. Designed originally for girls, its comfortable silhouette matched Key’s slim frame.

Its rare to see male pop-stars carrying a bag to public events, but Key flout the rules here by bringing along a black Givenchy clutch guarded well by a Rottweiler printed up front. We can only guess what Key toted along inside—maybe his smartphone and a Chapstick? What’s certain is that the talented idol made heads turn with his rebel-meets-urban military fashion.

SHINee Korean Fashion

SHINee Korean Fashion

SHINee is one Korean boy band known not only for their hit funky tunes but also their colorful fashion. They first conquered the music scene with their lovely debut, Noona You’re So Pretty. Now the boys are all grown up and are forces to be reckoned with within the J-pop music scene too. Recently, they have released a new Japanese single Dazzling Girl. The matching promotional video showcases both the group’s dazzling beats and dazzling fashion.

SHINee’s Dazzling Girl shows the boys helping a girl with a 360 degree fashion makeover to reflect how love makes her a dazzling girl. One dance sequence has them in varying fashionable takes on denim.

Statuesque Minho puts on a jumpsuit and makes it less downtown mechanic and more sexy chic. The sleeveless full denim outfit starts with a crisp closed collar with scattered black beads on the shoulders, tapers into a slim silhouette.

Belter Jonghyun shows off his muscles in a sleeveless number too, his with an upturned collar and with paneled denim, tied together with a dark denim sash belt.

Leader Onew rocks the layered look with a denim collared shirt cuffed casually at his elbows, the words ‘SHINee Dazzling Girl’ across the front. He wears this open over a white shirt, and then finishes the look with paneled denim shorts over snug striped skinnies.

Taemin looks like hiphop royalty, wearing a jacket with a denim trunk, leather sleeves and a snug gray cotton hood worn unzipped over a pristine white sleeveless shirt. He continues the paneled look with his denim harem pants.

Jung Yonghwa’s Uber-Chic Look In Uniform

Jung Yonghwa Korean Fashion

Jung Yonghwa Korean Fashion

Korean group CNBlue has made its name in the industry with an indie vibe mixed with the right amount of sugar pop. But admittedly the deepest stamp to fan girls’ hearts was the group’s dynamic and playful personalities. Leader Jung Yonghwa is no exception to this, however for a winter pictorial for Singles magazine, he chose to expose his more serious side.

Military service of 2 years is compulsory for every Korean man at the prime of their adulthood and idols are no exception. This is also one of the most anxiety-causing period in a celebrity’s life. What’s a better way to prepare for it than dressing up fashionably to the theme?

Jung Yonghwa does exactly this. He puts aside his sunny prankster personality for a more somber look in Singles magazine, where he oozes a high dosage of chic charisma in this military-themed fashion spread.

In the headliner shot, Yonghwa had his eyes lined with black eye-liner and gives a strong look at the camera. He wears a full body three-button military coat over an iron-crisp white shirt with a navy collar and classic-cut navy tie sporting the number 7. He wears a slim leather belt with a brass five-point star, the belt extending to cross his torso. Yonghwa sits cross-legged, with an embellished military hat on his head and ring on his finger.

Another picture shows Yonghwa stands in full length in one shot, hair tousled and high, giving a modern take on the classic military man’s suit. Pressed, fully buttoned, and artfully decorated with two medals on his breast pocket, the coat reveals only his high white collar and white cuffs. His dark gray pants taper fluidly down to shiny leather boots.

What is your take on Yonghwa’s sombre military style? See more of him in this concept in the December issue of Singles Magazine.

So Ji Sub is a Homme Fatale

So Jisub Korean Fashion

So Jisub Korean Fashion

Some say a man is sexiest when he is in a suit. Some say a dangerous man is the most attractive of all. What happens though when actor So Ji Sub becomes both?

On November 15th issue of High Cut magazine, So Ji Sub was transformed into a homme fatale playing with forbidden love. The handsome actor accomplished the look with the sleek styling of Ralph Lauren suits and shirts, pulled together by watches and jewels from Cartier.

In a photo from the pictorial spread, Ji Sub looks pensively out the windows, firm hand drawing the light curtains of his hotel room, dressed to the nines in a black label Ralph Lauren suit with crisp lines and cuffs and classic slim cut black tie. His tousled hair and over-sized Cartier watch pulled the look from bedroom to boardroom.

Shot on location in a beach hotel in Hawaii, Jisub optimized the use of his room by exploring all corners, draped meticulously in sleek men’s fashion. One picture sees him sprawled on the floor, leaning on the bed, white shirt open and untucked over black suit pants. Jisub poses again near the hotel window, this time his handsome face in full view, trading in the suits with a comfortable gray shirt. His Cartier watch remains the only accessory he needs.

The clincher picture though is one in which the actor posed undoing a woman’s brassiere, the mystery lady’s face hidden from view. The pictorial accomplished the overall feel of a home fatale and a fashionable man, minimalistic yet attractive, wearing a timeless and classic suit and watch.

Jazz Up Your Winter Wear With These Pretty Tights and Leggings

Want to know what’s a better way to play up your winter fashion this year? With tights and leggings of course!

Winter is the best season to experiment with tights and leggings, not only do they give you a slimmer silhouette to balance out the bulky jackets and sweaters, they also come in interesting styles that you can easily create many different looks from. From the lacy ones to pop colors types and wild python designs that are made in material of every kind, there is really no lack of choices.

Every woman can certainly find the right type that suits their style, taste and personality.

If you find the terms ‘tights’ and ‘leggings’ confusing, here’s how to differentiate them:

– Tights are generally thinner than leggings, due to the thinner material used.

– Tights are not meant to be worn alone, but are best-matched with a short skirt or mini-dress and paired off with boots or pumps (think stockings).

– Leggings, on the other hand, can be worn alone as a bottom due to their thicker material, and can be matched with a long flowy tunic top or tight-fitted tank tops for those slim enough to carry off.

– Tights cover up the entire feet all the way up to the waist, whereas leggings usually end at the ankles or at the calves/knees for a capri look.

Depending on the type of winter, you can wear both tights or leggings in temperatures above 10 degree Celsius, anything below this temperature will probably need leggings because tights will be too thin to keep your legs warm.

That said, visual examples are the best way to understand what these all mean. HUE, the hosiery specialist, is just the right place to start shopping for your right tights and leggings of high quality. Here are some of our top picks from HUE.
